- Rachele AMERINI is a GIS consultant at the United Nations Global Service Centre in Brindisi, where she works with the UN Mappers' crowdsourcing team on humanitarian mapping in support of UN Peacekeeping missions for the UN Maps initiative, focusing on communication and training activities. As a GIS specialist, she has worked in the field of urban planning for over a decade and has been involved in biodiversity and conservation projects, collaborating with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN/SSC) for mapping the spatial distribution of threatened species of mantids in the Canary Islands. She participated in an innovative open mapping project to survey the accessibility of cities through the use of OpenStreetMap.
