The course is structured in four units. The starting point is defining what we understand as curriculum and the types of curricula that have been identified in the literature. Then, we will explore how to plan a course taking into account the identification of students’ needs and principles for selecting content and materials. Next, we will deal with new curriculum approaches to implement a language course, such as differentiated instruction and the flipped classroom. The course finishes with the issue of evaluation and assessment, where we will discuss the different types of assessment.
